Every year of our lives, we rhythmically journey through the ambience and themes of the twelve Zodiac signs. Each Zodiac season is a month long sojourn. An unfolding Theatre of Being with a unique backdrop, characters and props. A celestial offering and opportunity to explore a particular facet of Life and being human. We are simultaneously acting and observing.
Welcome to the Gemini Theatre of Being. As you are magnetised through the carved portal, rich with familiar symbols, you see light wispy clouds shape-shift across a cerulean blue sky, multi-coloured butterflies flit above hedgerows of tall frothy-blossomed umbrels, elemental Puck-like sprites dance on the wild edges of perception; now you see it, now you don’t. The seasonal ambience is one of shifting, re-freshing, moving with the more chaotic rhythm of change and transition, following the slow grounded rhythm of Taurus and the embedding and rooting in of Spring.
In Gemini season, we become immersed in the realm of Mutable Air (May 21st – June 21st 2026). In human nature this corresponds to CURIOSITY, fascination with learning, gathering information, diversity of ideas, juggling and playing with different viewpoints and ways of seeing. Dexterity, acrobatics, twinkling eyes. Questioning, analysing, boundary-crossing and head twizzling, stretching between polarities, riddles, puzzles, contradictions, exploring the tension, humour, finding ways to hold it all lightly, with an over-arching all-inclusive synergy, allowing a multiverse of possibility to co-exist.
The Sun is in Gemini as Spring ends and shapeshifts into Summer, following the slow grounding rhythm of Taurus. The seasonal ambience is of shifting, re-freshing, moving with the more chaotic rhythm of change and transition. The Inbetween.
Butterflies, bees, birds and breezes carry precious golden pollen between plants, in movement and dances of lightness and beauty. Cross-pollination creates evolutionary strength through diversity. A human correspondence is the transmission of ideas through words and language, through communication, conversation, writing, documentation, art and media. These are each ways of sharing life perceptions; the di-semination, di-scussion and di-versity of ideas and outlooks. Trans-mission, trans-port, trans-ient, trans-lation, trans-form.
Gemini is the sign of the Twins; one earthy, one celestial; one bright, one dark. Sign signifying the realm of two-sides and opposites, polarities and the space which lies inbetween. It is the Mercurial trickster, the joker, the acrobat. The wise wily King’s Fool whose role was to cleverly shadow the king using skilful wit and artful truth, to balance and temper his regal role and decision making. Earthing lightning and lightening Earth.
The butterfly is also often associated with Gemini essence. It is a universal symbol of transformation and freedom, hatching after a long Winter’s sleep in the darkness and enclosure of a womb-like chrysalis, into a beautiful winged being. Flying and alighting for brief moments to sip nectar before moving on again. A being of light and air, yet with a knowing of the damp darkness from which it arose.
Gemini season invites us into the world of mind – to expand beyond ‘one view’, to consider polarity and to include the space inbetween these opposites; a fertile space of liminality and potential, where we may suspend absolutism, experience no-man’s land/every-woman’s land, fluidity, pure potential, a rainbow arc beyond black and white. In this space, we may alight and dance, play, explore, wonder, be inspired, be in awe (awe-full). re-think, re-vision, feel uncertainty, ambiguity, experience alternative points of view, confusion, discomfort, the wriggly-ness of un-knowing. And this may lead us somewhere mind-altering which we never imagined or didn’t plan, blown by inspiration and the winds of change.
Intensity and speed of these Gemini themes are currently being ramped up, with Uranus having now settled in Gemini (July – Nov 2025/April 26th.2026 – 2033), bringing accelerated shifts, innovations-inventions and heightened polarity of viewpoints on a collective level. And a drive to expand awareness and understanding of mind and consciousness and how it works, up-heaval, questioning, mind-twizzling amounts of information coming from multi-angles, disruption of outlooks, evolution of media, AI, communication systems, inspiration, eureka moments, overload, electric WOW all being potentials.
As I write, we have a Full Moon, 31st.May at 9.45am UK time – when the Moon in Sagittarius is in exact opposition to the Sun in Gemini. We are magnetised, stimulated and stretched towards finding a way of communicating and sense-making which honours BOTH Gemini’s seeking for new information, to question, fact-gather, learn via study and research, AND the Sagittarius modus operandi of experiencing life via direct personal experience, taking an overarching intuitive approach, having faith in the grand scheme of things, creating webs of meaning from interwoven connection and correlation to form an all-inclusive mapping and life outlook. Philosophies and religions are birthed from this Sagittarian process.
Both the polarity and the co-existence of Gemini and Sagittarius are heightened and intensified during this Full Moon. To walk the bridge between these two signs demands SPACE…space to open, to pause and step outside of habitual approaches and mindsets; to breathe, reflect, and feel into where knowledge and wisdom may hatch and birth. This process needs a spacious approach of both information gathering, questioning AND reflection and wondering, to move towards a re-callibration and ability to hold it all in a new all-encompassing way which gives sense and meaning and re-generates faith and optimism.
May you wander and learn in this Gemini theatre of being. May you fall in love with Life (again, in a new way). May you walk through new doors of perception. May you dance in bright places, with levity, with butterflies, and bees. May you breathe in and be inspired, pause in the liminal space inbetween… and breathe out to share the alchemy and the gold.
