Imagine. In a dream which is everywhere and nowhere, in which you find yourself at an ancient doorway. Poised on the threshold, arched with mystical symbols, you sense a curious magnetism. And you enter…finding yourself in a grand circular space with twelve doors around it’s perimeter. There is an ambience of timelessness, yet ancient being. You are drawn towards an inner doorway and as you enter, you behold a stage, a world with backdrops, props, costumes, mythical characters in costume. Colour, texture, style. An enchantment and a sensory feast. It’s a theatre which is always happening on a celestial level, and it comes to town on Earth in it’s own Zodiac season, once every year.
For one month, every year of our lives, we are gifted the opportunity to alight, immerse, be touched and moved, enter into relationship and stay a while in the realm of a particular life theme. As the Sun journeys through a Zodiac sign on it’s monthly sojourn, we re-member and re-awaken to a quality of Life, one which we know deep in our bones.
Welcome to the Taurean Theatre of Being – a lush, verdant landscape, a rich earthy feast of immersive wonder and beauty.
We are currently immersed in the Zodiac sign of Taurus (April 20th – May 21st 2026), of fixed Earth element. In the western hemisphere, this is the sign of Spring’s embedding, rich fertility, roots wriggling down into soil, stabilising and securing growth. Bluebells, wild garlic, wild plum and apple blossom adorn the hedgerows as ferns uncurling their exquisite green leafy spirals.
Taurus is a time of steady committed ‘becoming’ in a slow, languorously paced way, with a deep trust in nature, in Mother Earth, rooted in the enduring rhythms and cycles of the seasons.
The symbol of Taurus is the Bull, and visually it is also a crescent moon of seed potential melding with an open fertile womb. It’s essence is steady, sturdy, placid, embodied erotic fertile power, wildly enraged if disturbed, disrupted, provoked or if survival is threatened. Taurus is the wood to Aries Fire, an embodying and tending of the creative spark with nourishment, a pause to rest, a steadying influence to the rush of passionate Aries striving.
It’s the season to come down to Earth, to build our dreams into reality. To nourish, root, secure. To build skills and resources to manifest our values into being. To invest time and energy into whatever we sense holds enduring worth. To persevere, to stay with. Beware of the shadow of fixed enduring habits which no longer serve, yet which feel oh-so comfy and familiar and part of your psychological skeleton.
Taurus reminds us of the preciousness and wonder of the Earth, her enduring gifts of Life which nourish and heal, craft and build. Gifts of earthy rooty treasures, so necessary for our survival as Spirits in an earthly gown. In this theatre of being, we are inspired with gratitude and generosity. It’s a time to pause, behold and to give a blessing. To share this abundance with all earthly beings. To cultivate healthy relationships of mutual value and respect, which foster enduring wellbeing for All
Alongside the Sun’s journey through Taurus, we are now in the Old dark moon phase of the lunar cycle, which precedes the Taurus New moon tomorrow (9.01pm, Saturday 16th.May UK time). It’s a rich fertile time of pause, ending and liminality.
Within this dark moon phase, it’s time to slow even further, and to move within. Weave a space to connect with this current ambience. Breathe deep and slow, and drop deeply into the centre of your body. Behold this moment, perceived by YOU. Honour your experience. And notice – What may be singing to you? Where might you feel drawn? What may you hear a call to release, to bless and let go? And residing a little longer in this space…what may you feel called to bring further into being, to craft and build?
