The arrow is poised – from prayer into action.

The ambience of this current time is wild.  There is a gathering urgency, intensity, impulsivity, drive. Everyone is feeling it. The gap between action/happening and response is short, tight. Folk are more direct, mouthy, had-enough, done with it. Wanting something to change. Wanting something to end. Wanting something to begin.

Notice what this is for you. What have you had enough of? Dusty old habits which are outworn, yet familiar in their cobwebbiness? What may be incensing you with irritation or rage? What do you know really needs to go, or end?!

Anyone who has practised archery knows the necessity of skillful aim and fine sensitivity when drawing back the arrow… to feel into that moment of maximum tension, poised and pausing for a moment, before confidently loosing the arrow.

We are, right now, worldwise,  in such a moment. The desire to burst forwards is great. Aries heralds the new birth and growth of Spring Spring. Aries wants to make something happen, will-fully. Now. No waiting. To charge ahead, to ignite, to gloriously bring vision into being and action. To creatively imprint oneself in Life. To express ‘I am’.

Yet for the fire of Aries to warm, heat, forge, anneal, to transform and not destroy as wildfire does, a pause and a temperance is needed, which is innate to the sign of Libra, Aries polarity and opposite.

The Astrology – there are currently four planets and one asteroid in the first zodiac sign of Aries – cardinal fire. The Sun moved into Aries on Spring Equinox, joining Saturn and Neptune in the early degrees of Aries (March 2oth). Chiron is in the later degrees of Aries. On April 9th, Mars the ruling planet of Aries came home to his territory. Tomorrow, Wednesday 16th.April, Mercury enters Aries, making a powerful array.

Alongside the gathering of planets in the sign of Aries, the Moon is now waning dark in it’s cycle, in the sign of Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac… sign of yearning to bask in the embrace of Spirit, to go ‘home’, to live with a purity of innocence, an exquisite dreamlike empathic relating and communing with others, no separation, all-compassionate, all-inclusive.

What is the dream, the hope, the deep-heart wish which you carry for humanity as a whole, and our precious Earth? What has become clear to you over this last year, regarding dream or illusion? Dream and find an object or image which expresses your hope-fulness. Light a candle, together with a simple prayer that this may be.

This is a simple ceremony of preparation, from dark Old Moon to New Moon, from Pisces to Aries, from endings to beginnings.

This Friday there is a New Moon in Aries, a gathering of seven heavenly bodies in Aries. The energy is of wild release forwards. Things will happen. This is a time of self-direction. A time to move from prayer into action, to focus power, to actively engage with whatever in Life you stand for. The wind is at your back and we are all participants in the unfolding story of this time.

Planetary transits give an ambience, a wave which meets the shore of each one of us. We each have free will and deep responsibility to bring ourselves to the dance, and to find our own steps.

There are things in our lives which we cannot change: the weather, planetary transits, things which have already happened.  And there are things which we can: our engagement with life, our interpretation of events, our standing for what we believe in, in a dynamic way.

The Serenity verse is wisdom for this time –

May I have the serenity to accept that which I cannot change. May I have the courage to change that which I can. And may I have the wisdom to know the difference.

And don’t forget that fire needs wood to sustain….rooty soups, good sleep, care with news-reading and other horrors, finding calm, connecting with loved ones, inspirers and soul-tribe, and maintaining focus on nourishing your ability to act and make good things happen.
